A prestigious international advertising publication has listed Kiwi ad agency Colenso BBDO as the tenth best in the world.
The Gunn Report, compiled by publication Warc, annually ranks the best advertising agencies and campaigns in the world.
Coming in at tenth, Colenso BBDO was the only Kiwi agency to make it into the top 50 on the list.
The Gunn Report ranks advertising agencies in terms of their performance in strategy and effectiveness awards, which focus on how much value advertising campaigns deliver for clients.
"Being named in the top ten agencies on the planet for the second year in a row is hugely satisfying," said Colenso BBDO managing director Scott Coldham.
"With the business and communications landscape changing faster than ever it's important that we continue to help our clients navigate the pace and change that's occurring, with our creative product. The Gunn Report announcement suggests that we're consistently doing that alongside the world's best creative companies, and their clients."
Alongside the list of agencies, Warc also ranks the best individual advertising campaigns in the world.
Once again, Colenso BBDO was the only agency to place in the top ten, with its 'Child Replacement' campaign for Pedigree finishing in third place behind campaigns from Australia and the United States.
The quirky 'Child Replacement' campaign targeted empty nesters, asking them to replace their kids, who may have left for uni or travels, with a pet.
The campaign went on to win numerous international and local awards after its launch.
The only other New Zealand campaign to feature in the top 100 was Tracksafe NZ's 'Conscious Crossing' campaign by Wellington-based Clemenger BBDO, which aimed to address the dangers of crossing railway tracks in New Zealand.
The campaign, which placed 76th on the list, allowed for the layout of crossings at rail crossings to be modified, forcing pedestrians to pay attention every time they crossed the tracks.
