New Zealand vodka and gin maker 42 Below today confirmed yachting veteran Grant Dalton and fashion designer Karen Walker have joined its board of directors.
Chief executive Geoff Ross said Dalton, who is Team New Zealand's managing director, and Ms Walker would help "deepen our global networks, market knowledge and experience".
Both
Dalton and Ms Walker would help 42 Below market itself internationally, Mr Ross said.
42 Below vodka was judged number two in the world at international tastings, and in the past year has claimed 7 per cent of the New Zealand vodka market by value.
Yesterday, the company said it expected to sell 100,000 litres of vodka and gin in the June year, generating more than $2.1 million in revenue.
So far, 42 Below's expansion this year into North America, Australia and the UK has met with a positive response, Mr Ross said.
The expansion was being driven by product quality, focus on premium markets, and branding.
The company is seeking to raise $15 million from shareholders and investors by issuing 30 million shares at 50 cents each.
The company currently uses Kiwi "ambassadors" like expatriate model Kylie Bax and basketballer Sean Marks to market its products overseas, Mr Ross said.
