Judge set to rule on taxation scheme

Justice Geoffrey Venning is yet to decide on an application to lift suppression and confidentiality orders in New Zealand's biggest tax avoidance case.

The hearing in the High Court at Auckland is connected with "Trinity' - a tax scheme for wealthy investors.

The Inland Revenue Department, the defendant in the case, is seeking to have the orders lifted.

Venning's decision could come today or next week.
