This marketing approach is definitely a good way for you to double your sales in 2018 without having to work twice as hard. Photo / 123RF

In this weeks column I'm going to share a proven marketing approach that has enjoyed a 99 per cent success rate every time I have used it.

(By success rate I mean that when I use this marketing approach it works 99 per cent of the time to increase my sales without me working any harder.)

This marketing approach is definitely a good way for you to double your sales in 2018 without having to work twice as hard.

The Marketing approach I recommend is based on a simple concept.

Someone else in business is already enjoying much better marketing results than you.

What do I mean by 'much better marketing results"?

It means things like this…

-They are charging far higher prices than you and they have a lot of clients who are happy to pay these higher prices.

-They are attracting larger numbers of ideal prospects than you.

-They are making larger value sales than you are making.

-They are getting ten times the number of referrals that you are getting.

-They are getting amazing media publicity at no charge while you are getting no publicity at all.

-And so on.

So if you want to enjoy better results like these what do you do?

What I recommend you do is very simple…

Contact an expert in business who is already enjoying great results with their marketing strategies.

Ask them what specific strategies they are using to get such great results.

Ask them how you could adapt and use these same strategies in your own business.

Then put these proven marketing strategies into action within 30 days or less in your own business.

And 99 per cent of the time you will get a positive result.

In other words copy successful marketing strategies that already work rather than try and invent something brand new.

Here are three examples of how well this approach has worked for me in the past…

Example 1: I increased my sales by 300 per cent

I used to sell an advertising system that allowed business owners to increase their sales and save money on many of their normal business expenses. I was making two sales a week. I asked Don (another salesperson in my company) for advice on how to do better.

Don was making six sales a week. The advice he gave me was to use a simple visual sales aid in my presentation to every potential client. He showed me exactly how he did this and how I could do the same thing. I put this visual sales aid strategy into action and within 30 days I was regularly making six sales a week.

Example 2: I made a months' worth of sales in one hour

I used to sell motivational seminars and regularly made three sales a week.

I asked Paul the top seminar salesperson in the world for advice on how to make more sales.

(I met Paul at an international conference for the company I worked for.)

Paul told me that he made 10-15 sales in one hour by giving a live 45 minute presentation to sales teams.

He said this was a lot more efficient than making sales to one person at a time.

Paul gave me his presentation which I recorded and also wrote down.

I then practiced the presentation a few times and used it 'live' for the first time about 30 days after I returned home from my conference. I gave the presentation to a team of 26 insurance sales people and made 12 seminar sales in one hour.

Which was the same as what I would normally sell in one month.

Example 3: I made an extra $16,000 income in less than six weeks

I wanted to be a professional speaker on sales and marketing.

So I went to toastmasters to learn to speak in front of groups.

I then put some useful information together on how to increase sales and presented it to salespeople at their sales meeting.

I was paid $300 an hour to do this.

I then asked a top professional sales speaker called Des for advice on how I could do better.

Des showed me how to double my prices and have people happy to pay these higher prices. He gave me four strategies to put into action to do this.

I used these four strategies and made an extra $16,000 in new income in less than six weeks.

Now I have used this simple marketing approach a number of times over the last 37 years.

And it consistently enjoys a 99 per cent success rate.

My big mistake over the years is that I have only used this proven marketing approach from time to time rather than consistently use it all the time.

(Which when you think about it is a pretty dumb thing to do.)

However in 2018 I plan to use this proven marketing approach every month for a full year.
And I'd like to invite you to join me and use the same approach in your own business.
(If that sounds of interest just send me an email and I'll give you more details on what I'm doing.)

Summary:

If you want to double your sales in 2018 without working harder get some proven ideas from business people who are already enjoying great results.

It's a simple strategy with a 99 per cent success rate.

Which successful business people can you interview in the next month to get some valuable ideas on how you can double your sales in 2018 without working harder?
