First NZ Capital and First NZ Securities combine

First NZ Capital and First NZ Securities have completed formalities for combining their respective businesses, the companies said today.

The new firm will trade under the name of "First NZ Capital" and will formally commence trading on Monday.

The companies said in a statement that Bill Trotter will be executive chairman and Scott St John will be chief executive officer. The current chief executive officer of First NZ Securities will become head of securities.
