Coachwork company folds with job losses

Fruehauf Trailers' premises in Feilding

Workers at Feilding's Fruehauf Trailers have lost their jobs as the company goes into receivership.

The trailer and coachwork company was put into sudden receivership on Friday night.

Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union National Secretary Andrew Little says the receivers met with almost 30 workers yesterday and told them their employment at the Manawatu company would be terminated immediately.

Mr Little says the union is concerned at the total disregard the receivers have shown towards workers. He says some staff are being offered temporary contracts to finish up the last orders.
