Kim Dotcom is banned from using helicopters, travelling by boat or going more than 80 kilometres from his home, ahead of a bail hearing next Monday.

Dotcom must also report daily to the Albany police station between now and then.

Judge Nevin Dawson imposed the extra conditions following arguments from Queen's Counsel Christine Gordon that the Herald cannot report.

It followed the judge giving Dotcom's lawyers - Queen's Counsel Paul Davison and Simpson Grierson - leave to withdraw from the case.

Davison had been representing Dotcom during attempts by United States authorities to extradite him to face trial on what is alleged to be a conspiracy to commit the biggest-ever breach of copyright.

The Queen's Counsel did not disclose in court the reasons why he was stepping down from Dotcom's case and said they were "private and confidential".

Fletcher Pilditch, who was representing another accused in the case Finn Batato, was also given leave to withdraw.

The extradition hearing of Dotcom and his three co-accused was also put off by Judge Dawson until next June to give new lawyers more time to get across the case.

It was due to have taken place in February and Gordon opposed the adjournment, arguing new lawyers could get up to speed on the case in time.
