Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union secretary Andrew Little says bosses should be telling their staff to turn their phones and other mobile devices off during their summer break.

Human resources company boss Bridget Beattie agrees, saying that people should not respond to calls or messages unless they have a specific arrangement with a client or were otherwise an exception to the rule.

She says it is important that people feel they can turn their phones, iPads or other devices off.
