Trades up on NZX, but value down

The total value of trades on the NZX fell 17 per cent last month from a year earlier to $2.81 billion.

Despite that, figures show the total number of trades rose 6 per cent to 54,432. NZX highlighted the performance of the NZDX, saying the $1.903 billion of debt raised on the NZDX market in the year to date was a 54 per cent rise on the same period last year.

The 3093 trades on the NZDX market in July last month were up 7 per cent, while the value traded was up 38 per cent.
