The Waitangi Treaty Grounds was acknowledged in three separate ceremonies last week for excellence in business, architecture and tourism.

At the Tourism Awards ceremony on Thursday, Waitangi National Trust chief executive Jeanette Richardson was honoured for her outstanding contribution to tourism.

Also on Thursday, the Institute of Architects gave a local architecture award to Harris Butt Architecture for the new visitor bathrooms.

On Saturday night, Ms Richardson accepted the Best Tourism Operator and Supreme Award at the Northland Business Excellence Awards.
