PM promises $50m in Budget for cycleway

The Ministry of Tourism will receive $50m in operational funding in this month's Budget to progress the national cycleway, Prime Minister John Key told a Hotel Industry Conference in Auckland this morning.

Speaking at the Sky City Convention Centre, Key said the money would be allocated to the project over the next three years.

He added that some "promising routes" had already been identified and he expected to make an announcement on them within the next couple of months.
