Millbrook wins top NZ hotel award

Millbrook Resort in Queenstown, just judged New Zealand's top hotel.

TripAdvisor's annual travellers' choice awards named Millbrook Resort near Queenstown as New Zealand's top hotel.

The property was developed by luxury resort specialist developer John Darby of Queenstown-headquartered Darby and Partners.

Darby talks here to the Herald about his work:

Darby is chairman of Amisfield Wine Company, chairman and major shareholder of Treble Cone Investments which is the owner/operator Wanaka ski field and his other resort developments are Jack's Point, Fiji's Denarau Island, Omaha Beach north of Auckland, Clearwater Resort in Christchurch, Wyuna Station and Blanket Bay Lodge at Glenorchy.

Brian Howie, Millbrook Resort head of operations, said it was the second time his place had won the TripAdvisor award.

"The thousands of valuable guests and TripAdvisor users who stay with us every year have helped us achieve this fantastic status once again," Howie said.
