Warehouse joins appeal against commission ruling

The Warehouse has joined the appeals by Woolworths and Foodstuffs against the Commerce Commission's decision to reject their clearance applications to acquire up to 100 per cent of The Warehouse Group.

The Warehouse chairman Keith Smith said in a statement today the board wished to ensure that the company was appropriately placed to provide such market and other relevant evidence as the High Court may require to determine the appeals.

The company was told this was best achieved by exercising its right to join the existing appeals.
