Postie Plus reports flat third quarter sales

Postie Plus Group Ltd today reported flat sales in the third quarter compared with a year ago.

Total sales, including new stores, in the three months to April 30 were up 5.48 per cent at $28.06 million and year-to-date sales were up 5.54 per cent at $83.287m.

The company said strong trading had continued into the first month of the final quarter and it was on track to achieve its earlier forecast pre-tax profit of $3m for the second half and $2.3m for the full year.

"Assuming continuation of current trading conditions the board anticipates a dividend payment based on the final profit for the year."

Postie Plus shares closed yesterday at 64c, half the value they listed at in September 2003. The shares were issued at $1.
