Ellerslie retailer Sea Craft Miller Moyes has become the first Auckland marine dealer to be awarded Platinum Dealer status by Yamaha Motor New Zealand.
Sea Craft manufactures the Haines Hunter range of powerboats and has been based in the small Ellerslie cul-de-sac of Cawley St since 1946.

Moyes is the company's retail sales and service arm and is just the third Yamaha Marine dealer in the country to gain Platinum status.
Presenting the award, Yamaha Motor NZ marine manager Greg Fenwick says the Platinum Dealer programme recognises dealer excellence in the areas of sales, customer service and technical support.
"Regular customer satisfaction surveys are an integral part of the programme, both prior to achieving Platinum status and afterwards to measure overall performance," he says. "Platinum Dealers must comply with Yamaha's corporate image, stock and use Yamalube products and meet Yamaha's high professional standards by offering the full package, inclusive of Yamaha Marine Finance and Yamaha Marine Insurance."
Sea Craft Miller Moyes managing director Lionel Sands said the Platinum Dealer accreditation process started three years ago when the company commissioned new premises.
"It identified our strengths and weaknesses and made us look hard at our service business operation," he says. "It encouraged us to become more professional and that is reflected in the quality of our workmanship and service."
