Crane company seeks private equity investor

Crane and construction equipment company Titan is looking for a private equity investor or merger partner.

The family-owned business has taken the unusual move of publicly announcing its plans and hiring well-known investment bank Cameron Partners to search for a potential investor.

Cameron Partners director Toby King said while the construction industry was facing challenges the company believed there were opportunities to gain scale through acquisitions.

He declined to say how much money Titan was looking for.
