"It's not really a booking system. It's something to bring the centre to life and to explore what the centre can do.
"It's one of our most complex and ambitious projects to date," said Ross, whose company also created captivating Auckland International Airport's digital fly-through showing what the airport precinct will look like in30 year's time, a highly realistic digital walk-through Auckland's new waterfront Wynyard Quarter area and moving imagery of how SkyCity's convention centre will look once it's finished.
"This convention centre display can take about six people standing around it although it's been developed to work on tablets as well. It's on tour and right now it's at an expo in Frankfurt. Last month, it was in Melbourne. We finished building it about six weeks ago and we've just updated it," Ross said.
The device is really aimed at conference organisers and aims to display how various areas of the new centre can be used.
Fletcher Construction is building the controversial centre in a block bounded by Hobson St and Nelson St. Demolition work is well under way and much of the area has now been secured as heavy equipment operates.
