A man and a woman escorted by police from a Jetstar flight on Wednesday face flying bans and possible charges after a fight broke out between the two during the early morning Phuket-Sydney service.
Other passengers stepped into break up the fight between the 27-year-old man and 42-year-old woman inthe Business Class cabin mid-flight.
Another man on board said a reclined seat triggered the stoush but a Jetstar spokesman refused to confirm the circumstances which are now under investigation by Australian Federal Police.
"Our crew on board acted quickly and the customers were separated for the remainder of the flight," he said.
"We don't tolerate disruptive behaviour by passengers on our flights. We will conduct a review with a view to banning these passengers from travelling with us in the future."
The International Air Transport Association recently revealed a global increase in "unruly passenger incidents" and called for collaboration between airlines and airports to address the issue.
