Prime Minister John Key joked about having Customs staff on tenterhooks today when he became the first person in New Zealand to use a new automatic system that clears arriving overseas passengers electronically.
SmartGate was launched at Auckland Airport and will begin operating in Wellington and Christchurch from next year.
