Air New Zealand has signed a three-year deal with Flight Centre that will see the travel booking chain help promote the national carrier's services and grow its business.
The global agreement, which covers operations in New Zealand, Australia, the US, Canada and the United Kingdom, is in contrast to theshort-term deals often seen in the industry, Flight Centre Travel Group chief operating officer Melanie Waters-Ryan said.
"Our aim will be to work proactively with Air New Zealand to promote its world-class offerings to our leisure and corporate travel customers globally and to help it grow its business."
Air New Zealand chief executive Christopher Luxon said the partnership "seeks to build deeper sales and market development opportunities".
Flight Centre operates in 12 countries and employs 13,000 staff.
Asked what it would mean for someone booking a holiday, Flight Centre NZ's Sean Berenson said the deal was a commercial agreement.
