Early flights planned to beat Auckland traffic

Earlier flights are being seen as a way to beat Auckland's traffic jams.

Air New Zealand is planning to offer flights at 6am from Auckland to Wellington from July 10, in place of the current 7am flights.

It is also putting the last flight from Wellington to Auckland back to 9pm on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

Tony Garnier of the Auckland Business Forum says many business people will welcome the change.

He says earlier and later flights will enable those people to avoid peak traffic flows.
