Scented candle and beauty products maker Ecoya has opened its first store - at Auckland Airport - and will open additional retail sites in Australia this year.
Chief executive Geoff Ross said the 23sq m store, in the international departures area, began trading last week.
The airport site gave thebrand exposure to affluent international visitors who could purchase Ecoya products online after they arrived home, he said.
The retail space is shared with Trilogy, the skincare brand Ecoya purchased in 2010.
Ross said Ecoya would soon open two stores in Sydney - one in a large shopping mall and another in an "established shopping district".
Last month Ecoya forecast that its full-year revenue would be about 10 per cent higher than previous guidance, at around $22 million.
The company announced last month that institutional investors Pie Funds and Milford Asset Management were putting up $2 million for a stake in the firm.
