French firm Pernod and United States company Fortune Brands are seeking Commerce Commission approval to split up the local labels of British wine and spirits giant Allied Domecq.
Pernod, which is buying Allied, distributes Jacob's Creek and Wyndham Estate wines in New Zealand.
Allied owns Montana.
