Bumper salt harvest in Blenheim

This year's dry and windy weather has created a bumper salt harvest at the Dominion Salt works at Lake Grassmere, southeast of Blenheim.

The salt farm harvested 110,000 tonnes of salt last month, compared to 30,000 tonnes last year and a record harvest of 130,000 tonnes in 2001.
