Broadband use soars to 1.5m

New Zealand now has nearly one and a half million broadband subscribers.

The numbers increased by 14 per cent in the year to June.

When you take into account cellular, cable and satellite connections, broadband connections increased by 50 per cent.

Statistics New Zealand says we're opting for faster Internet speeds, larger volumes of data and easier access to the Internet.

Nearly two million New Zealanders have active Internet subscriptions via a mobile phone.
