“Auckland and Wellington remain steady contributors, while Marlborough is the only region recording both monthly and annual declines.”
Clark said the overall annual growth reflected strength in industries such as construction, engineering, farming and conservation.
“Trades and services and manufacturing and logistics also recorded solid monthly gains, which is welcome news after a prolonged period of decline.”
Job ads in construction rose 38.9% year on year, and engineering jumped 26.3%.
Meanwhile, the resources and energy sector continued its annual decline, down 9.1% year on year, in an extended period of caution.
Retail and consumer products (-0.5%) and banking and financial services (-3.7%) were also in decline annually.
On a monthly basis, advertising, arts and media fell 4.5%.
Jobs ads in design and architecture rose 3.4% month on month, while manufacturing, transport and logistics increased 2.2%.
In Auckland, job ad volumes rose 0.1% on a monthly basis and 4.8% year on year.
Otago had the largest annual increase in job ad volumes (23%), followed by Southland (21.3%) and West Coast (20.9%).
