Abano buys more

Abano Healthcare has exercised its option to acquire a further 40 per cent interest in Ascot Radiology for $2.57 million.

Publicly listed Abano acquired its original 40 per cent interest in Ascot, a private Auckland-based radiology practice, in February 2005.

Managing director Alan Clarke said Abano was pleased with Ascot's performance.

In February, Abano bought 80 per cent of a second radiology business, Greenlane Imaging, which will now become a subsidiary of Ascot and operate as a satellite clinic.

The vendors of Ascot, David Rogers and David Milne, will continue to hold the remaining 20 per cent of the business.
