The countdown is still on: Despite fevered reports to the contrary, chart-topping songbird Beyonce is apparently still "enormously pregnant".
Rumours swirled online that the mother-to-be, 30, had gone into labour late last week.
Twitter was buzzing with speculation the singer had checked into a New York hospital on Friday and had given birth to her first child with hubby Jay-Z.
According to gossip website MediaTakeOut.com, Beyonce had been taken to St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital on Manhattan's Upper West Side, after reserving half of the facility's "luxury labour and delivery floor" for the arrival.
The internet rumour mill also chimed in with a name for the couple's first born - a baby girl called Tiana-May Carter.
A Twitter user also shared a snap of what was purported to be the newborn. Work it, girl. Gorgeous.
But the singer's sister, Solange, has since piped up to silence chatter that Beyonce had already given birth.
"Shout out to my sister for being THE cutest pregnant woman ever!" she wrote in a tweet on New Year's Day.
And according to People, a heavily-pregnant Bey and her hubby saw in 2012 by dining at swanky eatery Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn, New York on December 31.
"She was definitely a pregnant lady that night. They sat side by side and had a cosy and intimate dinner. They seemed to be having a lovely time," a spy told the mag.
"She looked amazing. She wore sky-high heels. It was really impressive for an enormously pregnant woman. She looked like she was about to give birth."
Beyonce was originally thought to be giving birth in February, but recent reports suggested the wee one will be making a debut early in the New Year.
Stay tuned...
