Reggae group Trinity Roots wil headline a knockout lineup of artists at celebrations for Matariki on Aucklnd's Waterfront.

Matariki on the Waterfront returns to Auckland for its fourth year this July 17th, 18th and 19th.

Trinity Roots are one of New Zealand's most prominent reggae groups, drawing influence from soul and jazz for a stripped back, smooth and deeply spiritual sound. Members Warren Maxwell, Rio Hemopo and Riki Gooch have been involved with such esteemed local musicians as Fat Freddy's Drop, Little Bushmen, Breaks Co-op, Hollie Smith, and Neil Finn.

Their two albums True and Home, Land and Sea were massive successes, building them a loyal fanbase, who will no doubt be ecstatic at this chance to catch Trinity Roots in action.

With an incredible talent, versatility and charm, Beau Monga is the X-factor New Zealand 2015 winner. Hailing from Manurewa, South Auckland, Beau is the son of Betty-Anne and Ryan Monga of Ardijah. Beau's debut self-titled album, packed with irresistible grooves and smooth melodies, shot straight to #2 on the New Zealand Top 40 album charts.

Amazing musical lineup

Joining Trinity Roots will be Pao Pao Pao, Beau Monga and Maori Hi-Fi.

Pao Pao Pao is an inspirational collective focused on developing young, emerging M?ori musicians and establishing pathways for M?ori with ambitions for the music industry. A diverse and compelling range of young artists will take the stage to perform at Matariki - the perfect time to check out New Zealand's up-and-coming talents.

Maori HiFi is a collective of passionate music enthusiasts with diverse backgrounds and talents, who remain bound by their M?ori heritage.The founding members consisted of nine DJs and Beatmakers and their vision was simple: to share their passion for music with others. #MaoriHiFi began initially as a hashtag on Twitter, and has continued to grow and evolve with each new member. Members Dylan C, Kina Cuts, Gene Rivers, Lo Key and Grantis will be hitting the decks at Matariki on the Waterfront, providing chill grooves the weekend through.

Additional entertainment

In addition to the music, Friday night will sparkle with spine-tingling digital art, projection and installations, and the Mighty Matariki Markets will be in full swing all weeked long with M?ori food and craft offerings.

A community event for friends and family, it's the ideal culmination to an exceptional festival, celebrating our unique Maori tikanga (customs).

In 2014, the combined weekend of events in Silo Park drew a crowd of more than 25,000 visitors to the waterfront, and this year is set to be even bigger and brighter.

Matariki celebrates the mid-Winter Seven Sisters constellation in the north-east sky.

Matariki on the Waterfront is a chance to recognise and acknowledge New Zealand's most significant indigenous celebration in Auckland's idyllic urban waterfront location, Silo Park, complete with awesome entertainment, food, art and craft offerings.
