Police call for witnesses to Waiuku crash

Anybody who witnessed a fatal motorcycle crash in Waiuku on Sunday July 12 should contact police.

Police are seeking information on a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred last weekend in Waiuku.

The incident happened on Sunday, July 12 just before 6pm.

A motorcycle was travelling east bound along Constable Road.

Police say it appears the driver attempted to overtake a car in front of him, and has then collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the motorcycle, James Matiu, aged 26, died at the scene.

Police would like to speak with anybody who may have any information about the crash.
