The new Cornwall Park Café has opened in Cornwall Park today with a focus on a 'farm to table' philosophy.
This will see the café gather its produce fresh from the park's own gardens, says café operator Andrew Bell.
"People come here to run, walk or just enjoy the park. The new café will offer just another way of helping them enjoy its abundance.
"We've received overwhelming support from the Cornwall Park Trust Board and park users alike in getting to this point. Everyone's excited for us to open and looking forward to enjoying what we will offer." says café operator Andrew Bell.
In October a fire gutted the premises just before the cafe was due to open to the public.
Michael Ayrton, Park Director, is delighted that the café is finally opening especially after the building was extensively damaged by the fire and had to be re-built.
"Visitors to the Park have been asking for something like this, and everyone has really pulled together to make this project something special," Mr Ayrton said.
The Cornwall Park Café is situated between the Flagpole carpark and the band Rotunda on the eastern side of the park which is one of the more popular areas in the Park.
