There's lots to do around Auckland this Easter weekend - here's a roundup of what's on.

Coca-Cola Easter Show

The Coca-Cola Easter Show is a bundle of high-quality Easter holiday entertainment, along with its traditional agricultural events it now includes art exhibitions, live entertainment, sporting events, carnival rides, a market place, and a big top circus which provide entertainment for the whole family.

Along with the Cultural Stage running throughout the event, with performances by JGeeks, Phenomenon and the Brazillian Divas, there will be two high profile concerts in the Logan Campbell Theatre.

On Friday and Saturday evening, Dane Rumble and new boyband Titanium will perform on the main stage supported by 18 year old singer/songwriter Massad and dynamic musical duo Jupiter Project. Tickets are available for both shows and includes entry to the Easter Show.

Both shows will feature signings by the bands before the performance and will finish in time for the fireworks scheduled to happen each night at 9.00pm.

The giant Eggs-Travaganza Easter egg hunt

The giant Eggs-Travaganza Easter egg hunt is held during the 4 days of Easter between 11am and 2 pm, at the Amazing Maze 'n Maize huge cornfield maze. On Sunday night there is a night time Easter egg hunt by torchlight between 7pm and 9pm; bring your own torch and bring the whole family for a hilarious night out. The Easter bunny will be found running around hiding around 30,000 eggs throughout the 4 days in the maze, and the mission is to find the bunny, find the eggs, and then find your way out of the 6 hectare or 8 kms of paths in the maze.

Waiheke Island International Jazz Fesitval


The iconic Easter Waiheke Island International Jazz Festival serves up an all?star line?up of talent across four all?weather venues. Over 100 musicians will perform over the 3 days!  

 

The Festival kicks off on Good Friday with the popular "Good Friday Groove" - a family friendly event held at a Rangihoua Estate - featuring Iva Lamkum, Bella Kalolo, Five Mile Town, Darren  Watson, Arli Leiberman and more.

Easter at Ellerslie

These two racedays offer racegoers an amazing relaxed atmosphere and some top class racing action! While most Aucklanders head away from the city we have the occasion just for you to join us trackside and bring the family along with a picnic to celebrate the long Easter weekend in the sunshine!

Easter Bunny at Kelly Tarlton's

Families keeping an eye out for the Easter Bunny won't see him in his usual hiding places this Easter, but will find him taking the plunge with the fish at Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium.

The Easter Bunny will dive, ears-first, into the newly themed Ocean Discovery Tank - home to real artefacts from Kelly Tarlton's exploring days - at 2.00pm daily to feed the fish, from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April.

Keeping the kids entertained this long weekend is easy at Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium with many fun-filled activities including an Easter egg hunt, bunny art workshops and face painting - all included with admission this Easter only.

Easter Downtown

You'll find all the biggest thrill rides, sideshows and games at Easter Downtown on Queen's Wharf and opposite Victoria Park on Fanshawe Street all Easter weekend!

Queen's Wharf 9.30am til late on Friday and Saturday, and 9.30am-5pm on Sunday.

Church Services across the city:

'The Victory', an Easter Presentation that tells the story of Easter - Good Friday and Easter Sunday at LIFE Central Campus (ticketed event). Easter Sunday Communion Services in the morning at all Campuses.

St Matthews are based in Auckland CBD and are holding several Anglican Easter services.

St Patrick's Cathedral:

The Cathedral of St Patrick and St Joseph, based on Wyndham Street in Auckland CBD, is the Mother Church for Catholic churches in the Auckland diocese.

City Impact Church:

City Impact Church is one of New Zealand's largest Pentecostal Churches with centres on the North Shore and Mt Wellington in Auckland. They are holding easter services in both of their Auckland centres.

St Columba Presbyterian Church:

This Presbyterian church is based in Botany Downs in Auckland and will be holding a series of Easter services in the week of Easter. Refer to their website for details.
