Jet-black soulful eyes, biker gear. Long ears flying straight back as he roars past. A real bad boy.
It's hard not to be distracted by this so-cool canine as he overtakes you on his owner's shiny blue Suzuki 650 Bandit. Two-year-old Buzz loves speed and dresses for it. Blue doggles -
goggles for dogs - and "leather" jacket.
"My wife, Ellie, is very safety-conscious and wouldn't let me do this unless it was safe for Buzz," says owner, Sunnynook real estate agent Jack Anderson.
Buzz rides pillion behind Jack in a custom-made seat strapped in with dog-sized safety belts.
The labraspoodle (labrador, poodle, spaniel cross) gets a reaction wherever he goes.
"People stop when we are pulled up and ask, 'Can we get photos with the kids?'," says Jack.
This plucky pooch doesn't merely cruise to the cafe he frequents with Jack. He does serious road trips. The pair's longest jaunt is 250km.
They regularly ride the motorways and country roads to Warkworth and to South Kaipara Harbour. Buzz takes gravel roads without a whine.
If this inspires you to train your own best friend to navigate from the back seat, you might need a suitable bribe.
"He knows he will get liver treats when he comes out with me on the bike," says Jack.
