Among piles of tiny beanies, singlets and booties, Lynne Turner casts baby pink wool onto a pair of needles and starts knitting.
"At the moment I'm making a Thomas the Tank Engine jumper for my grandson," says Mrs Turner. "But in between I help to make the singlets."

"I think a lot of young people don't realise the importance of wool for keeping babies really warm, especially with winter coming," says Mrs Turner, who gave birth to one her children at the maternity centre.
Christine Whittfield, who grew up watching her grandmother knit socks, says when the members aren't knitting they're helping to buy yarn and make small gift packs for the mothers. "Each month at our meetings a few more singlets and beanies arrive," she says.
Club president Pauline Maddock says the women wanted to give something back to the community. "Two of our members were born at the unit, 10 of our members had babies there and three members have had grandchildren born there.
"One of our older members knits the body of the singlet, then she gives that to one of the younger members to finish all of the shaping - she does that on the train to work," says Mrs Maddock.
