Each weekend visitors will enjoy a specific theme celebrating the very best the Pacific has to offer.
Music and live performance will take centre stage on the opening Saturday, February 2nd with traditional and contemporary inspired performances and artist demonstrations including dance, music, weaving, and Tatau (tattoo) by internationally recognised Samoan Tatau artist Corey Weir along with celebrated artist in residence, Sylvia Marsters.
Food and beverage will be the emphasis of the second weekend on Saturday February 9th with visitors able to see demonstrations from international celebrity chef and Pacific cuisine specialist Robert Oliver who's most recent book Me'a Kai - The Food and Flavours of the South Pacific was the 2011 winner of the Best Cookbook in the World at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Paris. People will also enjoy the robust flavours of island grown coffee, sample specialty breads and other enticing delicacies in the Pacific café, then take away seasonal quality produce for a slice of the islands to enjoy at home.
On the third Saturday, February 16th, family will be at the heart of the day with fun attractions designed to appeal to the whole family including live performances, kid's activities, an art zone, face painting and trips in a Waka.
The Pacific region is synonymous with tropical, exotic island destinations; sun, sea and the friendliest of people. Travel, being an integral sector of the Pacific's infrastructure and economic activity, will be the primary focus on Saturday, March 2nd. Pacific tourism businesses will be on hand to acquaint visitors with the delights and beauty of the region - introduce new and familiar holiday locations, adventures and activities.
On Saturday March 9th, fashion, health and beauty will be the highpoint of the final Pacific Showcase weekend. Prominent beauty company Pure Fiji and established fashion label TAV will exhibit alongside newcomers including handbag and accessories company, TeRa. Other facets of health and wellness will be featured during the day.
The Pacific Showcase - enrich your heart and soul and awaken your senses to the Best of the Pacific.
