Fifth Avenue Mile, Manhattan NY - 10 September 2017

Nick Willis won his fourth Fifth Avenue Mile title in 3:51.3. Chris OHare made the first move over the final quarter but was tracked by Willis who had the superior speed heading to the finish line. OHare recorded 3:52.0 and
Ben Blankenship was third in 3:52.3.

Long Island Mile, Huntington NY, 6 September: Nick Willis 3:56.41 (2). Won by Scottish Rio Olympian and London world championships 1500m finalist Chris OHare 3:56.22.

ENGLAND

Great North Half Marathon, Newcastle upon Tyne - 10 September 2017

Sir Mo Farah had to work hard to hold out Kiwi runner Jake Robertson to win the Great North half marathon for the fourth successive year. Farah ran 1:00:06, just six seconds ahead of Robertson with Ethiopias Olympic Games marathon silver medallist Feyisa Lilesa third in 1:01:32.

"It was an amazing race," said Farah. "Jake pushed the pace on and tried to get rid of me. He almost got rid of me, I wasnt going to tell him that, but he almost got rid of me with three miles to go because I was hurting. I just had to dig deep."

Jakes twin brother Zane was fourth in 1:01:42. Jakes personal best is 1:00:01 in Lisbon in March and Zane has a career best of 59:47 in Japan in 2015.

TAURANGA

Red Stag Redwoods Forest Relay - 9 September 2017

Hamilton City Hawks won both the men and womens 5 x 5000m relays. Lake City Rotorua won both master relays and Egmont won both the boys and girls 4 x 3000m relays.

Men: Hamilton City Hawks (Connor Tristram, Jacob Priddey, Isaiah Priddey, Theunis Pieters, Jai Davies-Campbell) 1:25:23, Tauranga Triathlon 1:32:50, HCH No 2 1:34:31. Fastest lap Jacob Priddey 16:33.

Women: HCH (Grace Ritchie, Veronica Adams, Malesa McNearney, McNearney, Charli Miller) 1:45:05, Tauranga Ramblers 1:51:47, LCR 1:53:07. Fastest lap Charli Miller 19:20.

DUNEDIN

Cadbury Marathon - 10 September 2017

Sam McCutcheon ran a five minute personal best to win the annual Dunedin marathon in 2:27:57. McCutcheon was second in the New Zealand marathon championships in June in Wellington in 2:33:13. Andy Good was second in 2:33:32, followed by Jason Hall 2:42:12, Jason Palmer 2:50:04, Damien Cook 2:53:08 and Glen Sutton 2:57:32. Hannah Oldroyd was the first woman in 2:59:22, beating New Zealand championship bronze medallist Bella Bloomfield who took a minute off her PB with 3:04:52. Sarah Dallas was third in 3:14:22.
