Amazed onlookers were shocked today when an injured shark - thought to be a Great White - washed up on a popular Manly beach.
Images show the predator rapidly moving its tail on the shores of the popular beach just after midday.
The shark - which appears to have suffered injuries to its jaw - was discovered earlier today at South Steyne before marine rescue took it to nearby Fairy Bower pool.
Lifeguards on jet ski kept watch over the marine animal before marine rescue arrived to bring it to shore using a stretcher.
Onlookers took to Instagram and Twitter to post photos of the unusual sight.
Alex Martiniuk wrote on Twitter, 'Shark in #Manly bower pool right now. She washed up on Manly beach. Beautiful to see such a gorgeous animal.'
Beachgoer Dan Korocz wrote, "Literally about to take my boys for a swim ... #shark #manlybeach"
