A suspected New Zealand man is believed to have fled home after robbing a series of banks in Australia.
The man, believed to be part of a crime gang, is accused of holding up and robbing three Queensland banks in January.
However, he evaded police when soon-afterwards officers raided the suspect's hideaway in the Gold Coast, and he ran out the back door and into bushland, news.com.au reported.
The suspect also escaped a large-scale police search involving a helicopter, the website reported.
Australian and New Zealand police were working together to find the man after a tip-off he had fled home.
A suspected co-offender was still believed to be in Australia.
The group allegedly to held up a Westpac Bank on January 17, and another Westpac and Suncorp banks the next day, media reports said.
