South Korea has sent its first humanitarian rice shipment to North Korea since 2008, and opened talks on reunions for families divided by the border.
A freighter carrying 5000 tonnes of rice left the southern port of Gunsan and headed for the Chinese border city of Dandong, where the rice will be loaded on trucks for delivery in North Korea.
