British pop star Karen Harding has apologised after missing her cue for the national anthem ahead of the FA Cup final between Crystal Palace and Manchester United today.

The singer blamed technical problems after she was left red-faced in front of millions.

The 24-year-old's name started trending within minutes of her gaffe, which saw her fail to begin singing before fiddling about with her earpiece.

Stood in the centre of Wembley Stadium, Karen remained silent as the two teams, Prince William and thousands of supporters began God Save The Queen.

"OMG. Biggest audience of my life and I get technical difficulties! Argh so sorry guys," the hitmaker wrote on Twitter soon after her performance.
