Labour MP Judy Keall said yesterday that she would retire from politics at the next election, to make way for someone younger.
The Otaki MP said she was looking forward to spending more time with her family. She was reunited with her husband, Graeme, after a seven-year separation and was keen to "make up for lost time".
Mrs Keall, who chairs Parliament's health select committee, was elected Glenfield MP in 1984.
