A neighbour who witnessed the aftermath when a truck crashed into a house in Auckland says no pedestrians were injured in the incident.
The truck, owned by an Auckland-based moving company, rolled backwards into a house on Elwood Place in Ellerslie on Monday.
A police spokesman said emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 5pm to reports of a crash.
One person was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after they were hit by the moving vehicle.
A resident in a neighbouring property said the injured party wasn't a pedestrian, or anyone in the house the truck crashed into.
It seemed likely it was a person working for the truck company that was outside the vehicle at the time, he said.
The moving company has been contacted by the Herald this morning for comment.
A police spokesperson said the serious crash unit attended and WorkSafe had been advised of the incident.
