Wellington's Ngaio Gorge is once again closed to traffic because a new slip has come down across the road.
The slip is near the major rockfall that closed the road late last month. The steep bluff above Ngaio Gorge Rd collapsed, completely covering the road in boulders and rubble, blocking access to Wellington from Khandallah.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
The original slip was only cleared about a week ago, when the Wellington City Council said it would build a

The council had hoped to have the road open, although with speed restrictions, this week.
