A family holiday turned into a medical emergency yesterday when a young boy was flown to hospital after falling through a glass window.

The 10-year-old suffered lacerations after he tripped and fell through a window in Papa Aroha, Coromandel, just after 10am.

An Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman said the boy and his family were visiting from America.

He was treated at the scene and flown to Starship Hospital.
