An armed robbery took place at a Dunedin TAB tonight on the same street of an armed service station robbery two weeks ago.

Police are investigating the armed robbery at South Dunedin TAB on Hillside Rd at 8pm this evening.

Video footage shows a cordon around the TAB and multiple police cars and policemen at the scene.

It is believed no one was injuried.

A police spokeswoman said no further details were available at this stage.

On June 13, three men with weapons including a sword and a firearm robbed Mobil Forbury service station on Hillside Rd.

The offenders, described as male and in their 20s, entered the petrol station with their faces covered about 1.50am.

Cash and tobacco were taken in the robbery, and no-one was injured.
