A person with serious injuries has been cut out of a vehicle after a two-vehicle crash on the Hibiscus Coast.
The drivers of both vehicles suffered injuries and have been transported to hospital, police said.
A Northern Fire Service spokesman said it was called to the crash at the intersection of State Highway 1 at Pohuehue and Mahurangi West Rd just after 7am.
The New Zealand Transport Agency says delays in the area are likely, and motorists should follow directions of emergency services.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible as the crash has caused delays. There are no detours in place at present.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
A police spokesperson said more details would be released soon.
