A Blackball woman was left terrorised late last night after two people, one a woman, arrived at her home with bats and smashed the windows.
Acting Senior Sergeant Paul Watson, of Greymouth Police, today appealed for witnesses and information about the destruction, which happened at about 11.30pm.
"Two persons have arrived at an address there, both have been armed with bats. They smashed windows at the house and also a vehicle at the address," Mr Watson said.
"They didn't enter the residence."
At least one of the pair who visited the property was a woman and both arrived in a vehicle, but at this stage police had few leads.
Mr Watson said the victim had no clue as to who they were or why she had been targeted.
At the very least they were investigating an incident of wilful damage and threatening behaviour, and possibly home invasion, he said.
