The 22 year-old man involved in a crash on State Highway 16 during a police pursuit which injured a five-month-old baby now faces a raft of driving charges.
Travis Clarke last week appeared in court charged with breaching bail and held in custody.
Now the Otara man has been charged with two counts of reckless driving causing injury, failing to stop for lights and sirens and driving while forbidden.
He was due to appear in the Manukau District Court today.
Police said the two passengers in the car at the time of the crash had since been discharged from hospital.
Police pursued the car allegedly driven by the defendant on State Highway 16 for about five minutes before it crashed.
A female passenger was in the front seat of the vehicle and her baby boy was in the back.
All three were taken to Auckland City Hospital where Clarke was put under police guard.
