An Auckland pizza shop looks like "a war zone" this morning after an elderly lady accidentally accelerated her car through the storefront.
The woman was being treated by St John ambulance staff outside Domino's Pizza on Te Atatu Rd after the incident about 10.30am.
Store manager Satinder Singh said he arrived at the shop, which is in a little shopping precinct in Te Atatu South, a few minutes after the ordeal to find it extremely damaged.
"Everyone is okay, but there is a lot of damage - the main front window all gone, the customer service desk is all gone and right back into the kitchen is damaged.
"It looks like a war zone."
He said he understood that the woman had tried to reverse her car out of a park, but accidentally accelerated in drive instead.
"I hope she is okay, it must have been scary for her."
St John spokesman Robbie Walker said the woman was treated for moderate injuries at the scene but did not require transportation to hospital.
