A boy who fractured his skull at Inflatable World in Napier is on his way home after making a "remarkable" recovery.
Zaybein Wathey, 10, flew out of Auckland with his stepfather Paul Majoribanks just before 1pm today.
Zaybein was doing extremely well, Mr Majoribanks said.
"He's made a remarkable recovery."
Mr Majoribanks said you wouldn't think Zaybein had received a couple of cracks in his head.
"The day before last he was up from 8am to 8pm. He's only just got back to walking and now of course, he wants to run, but we're not going to let him."
His recovery was "a huge relief", Mr Majoribanks said, and thanked Hastings and Starship hospitals for their care.
"They were both incredible. Hastings managed pain really well and Starship were absolutely phenomenal.. They deserve all the donations and support they get."
Zaybein said being in hospital hadn't been much fun but seeing a bit of Auckland had been.
The pair saw some of the city, including Kelly Tarlton's Sea Life Aquarium once Zaybein was discharged.
They would head back to their hometown of Upper Hutt later today.
